  17. <p>     Has Gus Savage had a change of heart? Just a year ago,
  18. during a bitter primary fight, the Democratic Congressman from
  19. Chicago ripped into opponent Mel Reynolds for accepting "Jewish
  20. money." How strange, then, that invitations to last week's
  21. $500-a-head "Gus Savage for Congress" fund raiser in Washington
  22. went to some of the same organizations he had vowed to "run back
  23. to Highland Park where you came from." What's more, the
  24. invitations carried the name of House Speaker Tom Foley, who had
  25. professed to be "disturbed" by Savage's inflammatory campaign
  26. rhetoric. The Speaker didn't turn up at the bash, but a Foley
  27. spokesman confirms that he "supports all Democratic candidates."
